Stops and coach access
Glencoe Visitor Centre (National Trust for Scotland): entry is free, and there is a separate, signposted coach park. The Trust says there is currently no charge for coach parking, so coaches use the coach park rather than stopping at the entrance. Buses drop off and pick up at the entrance to the estate drive, where care is needed crossing the main road.
Fort William sits close to Ben Nevis, at 1,345 metres the highest mountain in the British Isles. We confirm the drop-off and parking in Fort William with you before the day.
Driving time is not the limit on this trip. A coach driver may drive up to 9 hours a day, and a return day at about 5 hours of driving at car speed sits inside that, with stops. See how drivers’ hours shape a long day.
Which vehicle
Our own vehicles are a Mercedes Sprinter minibus (16 seats), a Volvo B8R coach (38 seats) and a Mercedes Tourismo coach (53 seats). A partner operator supplies other sizes, such as a midi coach, and extra vehicles for larger groups. Our own vehicles are wheelchair accessible: tell us when you book. Your written quote names the exact vehicle.
What it costs
You pay for the vehicle and driver, not per seat. Our 53-seat coach is from £1,200 a day, or from £1,500 in peak season. A day is up to 10 hours, and extra hours may be charged. A quote includes fuel, mileage, the driver, tolls, standard parking, waiting time during the hire, bottled water and Wi-Fi. It does not include attraction tickets, passengers’ food or gratuity. Ferries and coach-park charges at venues are shown on the quote at cost. See the price guide for how prices are built.
Frequently asked questions
Is Glencoe too far for a day trip from Glasgow?
No. Glencoe is about 92 miles and 2 hours from Glasgow by car, and a Glencoe and Fort William circuit is about 5 hours of driving at car speed. That fits inside a coach driver’s 9-hour daily driving limit, so we plan it as a long day with stops.
Is there coach parking at Glencoe Visitor Centre?
Yes. The National Trust for Scotland has a separate coach park, and says there is currently no charge for coach parking. Coaches should use the coach park, not the entrance. Check the Trust’s page for any change before your date.
Can you add Glenfinnan to a Glencoe day?
Glenfinnan is about 17 miles and 30 minutes by car from Fort William, so it can be added to a long day or made part of a two-day trip. Tell us the group size and the hours you want, and we say what fits.
