Coach hire in Glasgow, with driver

Ritaat Coaches provides coach and minibus hire with a driver in Glasgow, Scotland, using our own Mercedes Tourismo (53 seats) and Volvo B8R (38 seats) coaches and Mercedes Sprinter minibus (16 seats), plus partner operators for larger groups. What you get when you hire a coach in Glasgow

Every hire is a vehicle with a driver. You don’t need a licence, and you don’t drive. The written quote lists what is included and what is charged separately. Fuel, the driver, road and bridge tolls, standard parking, waiting time during the hire, bottled water and Wi-Fi are included.

  • Our own vehicles: a blue Mercedes Tourismo coach, a silver Volvo B8R coach and a silver Mercedes Sprinter minibus, with 53, 38 and 16 seats. All three are wheelchair accessible: tell us when you book.
  • Larger groups: extra vehicles and other sizes are supplied through our partner operators.
  • One contact: one quote, one booking reference and one number to call on the day, even when more than one vehicle is involved.

If your group fits our Sprinter minibus (16), see minibus hire in Glasgow with a driver. It is often the better fit for a small group with luggage.

Pick-up points in Glasgow: what works and what doesn’t

A full-size coach can’t stop just anywhere in the city centre, so we agree the pick-up point when we quote. These are the places groups ask about most.

Buchanan Street and the city centre

Buchanan Bus Station is run by SPT, and its stances are used by operators of scheduled bus and coach services under SPT’s arrangements. A private-hire group should not plan to board there. For city-centre pick-ups we agree a legal set-down point near your hotel or meeting place. Our usual pick-up is Glasgow city centre, and we collect from anywhere you ask.

SEC, OVO Hydro and the Armadillo (Finnieston)

The venues’ drop-off and pick-up zone is on the west side of the SEC campus, reached from Stobcross Road. For conference shuttles see corporate and conference transport; for concerts and events see sports and events coaches.

Hampden Park (Mount Florida)

Coach routes change by fixture and by which end your club is given. Two examples from clubs’ notices: for one fixture, coaches with a pass were sent to the Purple car park via Aikenhead Road, on the east side; for another, supporters’ buses were sent via Titwood Road to parking west of the stadium. We follow your match’s official notice. Details: sports teams and supporters’ coaches.

Celtic Park and Ibrox

Away supporters’ coaches at Celtic Park have been parked on Springfield Road, and at Ibrox in the away car park on Broomloan Road. Both depend on that match’s police and club notice, which we check before the day.

Glasgow Airport (GLA)

The airport is in Paisley, about 10 miles from the city centre by road (about 17 minutes with no traffic), off M8 junction 28. The airport says coaches and buses use its Zone C [verify by hand: the site blocks automated fetches]. Meeting points, late flights and luggage: Glasgow Airport group transfers.

Areas around Glasgow we cover

We pick up across the city and the towns around it. Distances are by road from the city centre (OSRM, no traffic).

  • Southside and the east: Shawlands, Govanhill, Castlemilk, and Rutherglen and Cambuslang just over the city boundary (Rutherglen is about 4 miles, around 11 minutes).
  • West and north: Clydebank (about 8 miles), Dumbarton (about 20 miles), Bearsden, Milngavie, Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch in East Dunbartonshire.
  • Lanarkshire: East Kilbride, Hamilton, Motherwell and Cumbernauld, each with its own section on our Lanarkshire coach hire page.
  • Renfrewshire: Paisley, Renfrew, Johnstone and Erskine, on our Paisley coach hire page.
  • Further afield: day trips to Edinburgh (see coach hire from Glasgow to Edinburgh) the rest of Scotland and the UK, and long-distance trips to London, Ireland and Paris. All areas: areas we cover.

What coach hire in Glasgow costs

Each trip is quoted individually. The price depends on:

  1. Vehicle size (minibus or full-size coach) and how many vehicles you need.
  2. Hours, including the time the driver waits between drop-off and pick-up.
  3. Distance, especially for trips beyond Glasgow.
  4. Date and time: Saturdays, December and late-night returns fill first, so book early. Our prices differ by season.
  5. Extras such as parking fees, tolls or a driver’s overnight stay. Ferry crossings and venue coach-park charges are charged at cost and shown on the quote; the driver’s accommodation and meals on multi-day trips are charged separately.

As a guide, our 53-seat coach costs from £1,200 a day, or from £1,500 in peak season, and our 16-seat minibus from £375 for an airport pick-up. The maximum is 10 hours a day; extra hours may be charged. For comparison, Coach Hire Comparison’s UK rule of thumb for a full-size coach with driver is £80 to £130 an hour, depending on vehicle standard, and Travelforce lists £600 to £1,000+ a day for a 49- to 86-seat coach in London (November 2025). Those are other firms’ figures, not Ritaat’s. A worked example: coach hire prices.
